District 3

San Francisco Supervisor District 3 is situated at the northeastern corner of the City, surrounded on two sides by the San Francisco Bay. The district includes the Barbary Coast, Chinatown, Embarcadero, Financial District, Fisherman's Wharf, Jackson Square, Lower Nob Hill, Nob Hill, North Beach, Polk Gulch, Telegraph Hill, Union Square, and part of Russian Hill.

Demographics

  • District 3 has the largest share of San Francisco’s overall population and is the densest district in the city.

  • Of the eleven Supervisor Districts, District 3 has the lowest proportion of residents aged 0 - 14 years.

  • The highest percentage race & ethnicities in the district are White (48.5%), Asian (42.0%), and Hispanic or Latino (8.5%)

  • District 3 is home to the largest senior population in San Francisco. 1 in 5 of the District’s residents is 65 years or older.

  • Nearly a quarter of San Francisco’s seniors living below poverty line live in District 3.
